Located in a close, tight, orbit to the star Tellos III, Obsidian is a small, rocky planet whose atmosphere is a swirling mass of poisonous gases. The planet is marked with volcanoes, sulfur pits, and vent holes, which shrouds the planet in a hazy red and orange sheen of clouds. Though the planet is not suitable for human life, it is important for the Core due to its being rich in precious metals, minerals and other raw materials necessary for manufacturing. Owned by a group of seven corporations, Obsidian is a mining planet, and below the surface, shielded from the intense heat, it is a mass of interconnected tunnels, and mine shafts. The tunnel system connects the various habitat cites together, and all life take places underground.
