Star Trek Late Night
Adult Ilanics range from 1.8 to 2.2 meters in height and from 75 to 130 kilograms. Their skin color ranges from pink to tan or brown. Their hair varies from a dark chestnut to a light auburn, though elderly Ilanics’ hair fades to grey or white with age. Like their racial relatives, the Luxans, Ilanics possess cranial tentacles they call ‘tenkas’: two large ones on the forehead, and two mid-sized ones toward the back of the skull. Males also possess secondary tenkas on their chin. Like Luxans, they often decorate their tenkas with metal rings or tattoos.
Background: Though generally a reserved, introverted race, the Ilanics have fought a war with the Scorvians for a number of generations. In order to survive the endless hostilities, they were forced to expand their technologies and train combat readiness into their population. In addition, their knowledge of the sciences has expanded at an astounding rate in the last few generations. Though forced onto a warlike footing, Ilanics consider themselves a peaceful people and stress their arts and culture above their military conquests.
Personality: Ilanics are usually quiet and thoughtful, rarely speaking without carefully choosing their words. While not exactly grim, they rarely relax or participate in light-minded pursuits. To see an Ilanic smile is uncommon; to see an Ilanic laugh is a rarity. Many Ilanics have an interest in crafts or artistic pursuits.

Like their cousins, the Luxans, Ilanics are vulnerable to taking damage in combat. If an Ilanic takes a wound that results in bleeding, he must make a Challenging (10) Fitness + Vitality Test. If failed, the character suffers blood poisoning (his blood runs black), and he will lose 1 point of health per round until he sustains at least 5 points of real or stun damage to the wound, causing the blood to run clear.
