Campaign of the Month: January 2012
Star Trek Late Night
This space station is in the Tulk system around the planet Tulk 3. It was originally built by a Hynerian corporation on the surface of the planet’s only moon. The moon was essentially a giant diamond (6 mile radius) thought to be the core of a long dead gas giant that was kicked loose from its solar system eons ago.
When the moon was completely consumed, the station remained, hence the the crescent shape. Mining operations began on the planet below. Large deposits of diamond fragments where found all across the surface and were most like the result of break away fragments from the portion that became the moon. This quest for diamonds was the ultimate undoing of most of the indigenous life on the planet below.
Once all of the resources had been mined the Hynerians lost interest in the station. A Nebari by the name of P. Kendall purchased the facility and set it up as a deep space trading and meeting facility. The station sits at the very border of Hynerian and Nebari space and serves as a deep space trading outpost. This area of space is known for good mining and many prospectors travel to nearby systems to try their luck. Crescent is an essential outpost for them and has become home to many refuges from the Sebacean worlds, Hyneria, the Nebari system, and the occasional other races.
“Mayor” Kendall has avoided trouble with the Peacekeepers by keeping his lees-than-legal operations low key and by paying off the right people. Humans that make Crescent their home often compare it to Drozana Station.
