The Cube of Death

Risa

A cosmic string has been seen moving towards the Risa system. It appears the string will come within 20,000km of the resort planet of Risa itself. Hundreds of thousands are fleeing the system for fear that the string will destroy the planet or the sun.

Romulus

Admiral Thrawn and his fleet attacked the Borg invaders of the Romulan system. Reports are sketchy but from what we have been able to verify, Thrawn’s fleet destroyed the Borg cube and eradicated all of the Borg invaders. It is unclear what this means for the Romulan Star Empire and we await new with anticipation.

Citadel Station

Reports are streaming in from Citadel Station of a massive battle between the fleets of Admiral Thrawn and the Borg. Three imperial star destroyers were lost in the battle but Citadel Station has been liberated. The leader of the attack was a Captain Pedric Graff of the Imperial Navy. Following the liberation of the station, Graff sent a message asking if the station needed further assistance. After being told that they could handle it, Graff and his fleet headed into Romulan space.

Citadel

Starfleet sent seven ships to investigate Citadel station. All have vanished without a trace. No word has been heard from the station since the Borg demanded the station surrender.

Romulus

The battle of Romulus has resulted in a resounding defeat for the federation. The entire fifth and seventh fleets have been lost.

Terra

The President of the Federation announced today that she is asking Starfleet to intervene on behalf of the Romulans against the Borg invasion.

Korvus

Captain Picard has come out of hiding and has announced that he has a plan to defeat the Borg. Picard was sentenced to a penal colony almost two decades ago for the crime of genocide. He released a virus that killed all the Borg that were in out galaxy. This new Borg invasion seems to be doing quite well at evading the virus and are perhaps immune. We now learn that he escaped from the penal colony and has been on the run ever since. A ship has been dispatched to retrieve him but what the future holds for this once great hero is unknown.

Romulus

The Borg invasion of Romulus is underway. It is uncertain how many lives have been lost but the Romulan fleet that met the invaders has failed to stop the single Cube that attacked. After the cube broke the Romulan fleet dozens of Borg Spheres entered the system and began to systematically assault the planets. The Romulans are begging the Federation for aid, which at this moment appears to not be coming.

Citadel Station

The Lexx, a giant insect vessel last seen under the command of Princess Leia Organa, dropped into orbit of Citadel today. The entire crew of the vessel is missing the vessel appears to have been assimalated by the Borg. The ship, which is sapient, issued a single command, “Surrender now or be assimilated.” All contact with Citadel was lost 22 minutes following that transmission.

Atlas Station

News of new management is spreading across the galaxy as Atlas Station has come back online. Invitations have arrived at every home in the Federation telling people that they should take a vacation to Atlas Station. The invitation claims the place is family friendly and that the first 10,000 to arrive shall be given two free nights provided they stay for at least one week. Not long ago Atlas Station was purchased by former Starfleet Commander Karr who was at one time on the Federation’s most wanted list. It is strange how things have changed.

Andoria

The wormhole that destroyed Andoria has reopened and a fleet of 10,000 ships emerged. The fleet gathered in formation over the course of three day and then in mass vanished. Where they went is anyone’s guess but it is believed that they used Transwarp technology much like the Borg use to use.

Citadel Station

Reports from dozens of merchants confirm that the Borg is on the move. A single Borg Cube passed within one light year of the station on a direct path towards Romulus. Other reports of Borg Spheres moving towards Federation space is causing many people to pack up and leave everything behind. Why the Borg chose to ignore Citadel is perplexing.

Nix

A wormhole opened in the Nix system early yesterday and seems to have stabilized, at least for the moment. It has been confirmed that this wormhole goes to Galaxy 13491. Starfleet has dispatched ships to patrol the system. Nothing has yet emerged from the wormhole but everyone fears it is a matter of time.

Citadel Station

Salma Hayek was returned after being missing for nearly a year. She has reported posttraumatic amnesia towards the details of what happened to her but her return has created some conflict. Karly Rose, a known assassin, broke into Hayek’s home and shot her three times at point blank range. If not for an unnamed person who was visiting Hayek, she would now be dead. Karly Rose escaped the station and is now wanted. It is unclear who hired Ms Rose but speculations are running wild.

Terra

Starfleet announced today that the starship, USS Necropolis, has begun its shakedown cruise. The Necropolis has been long considered to be the greatest achievement in Starfleet history, as it uses a zero point modulation engine that can travel nearly instantly to any point in the galaxy.

The team head to survey the newly aquired Atlas Station. Enroute they discuss plans to take on the Deathstar, rescue an Ambassidor, and other less interesting stuff. A quick stopover on Citadel reveals some interesting situations.

Around the Federation
Six capital cities on six different planets were all struck with 50 megaton plasma blasts all within minutes of each other. It is unknown who is behind the attacks, how they were orchestrated, or even why. Terror is filling the hearts of nearly everyone in the Federation as the body count continues to climb. Currently it is estimated that 110 million people lost their lives in this attacks and the monetary cost is well in excess of five trillion credits. Bajor, Centauri, Terra, Betazed, Tellar, and Vulcan all suffered from these attacks. Find out more of the general news feeds of these planets.

Lira’s Fortress
Lira, the mysterious figure known throughout the Uncharted Territories and the Ferengi Queen, has entered into an alliance with Grand Moff Tarkin. This surprising even comes as the Federation is building a fleet to attack Tarkin’s superbattlestation, the Deathstar. It is unclear what the move will accomplish but with Lira’s fleet of warships joining forces with the remnants of the Imperial navy, the Uncharted Territories just gained one of the most powerful military forces ever seen in that area of the galaxy. An emissary has been dispatched by Lira to meet with Federation officials.

Citadel Station
Arnold Jenkins is back in the news as he has been restored as an active member of Citadel and has had his business, Vanguard Salvage, returned to him. Jenkins was involved in a lawsuit earlier this year but he won his legal battle but lost much of his business assets. Now the station has restored him fully and paid him an undisclosed amount in damages. When asked what next, Jenkins said, “I am off to find out what happened to my friend Salma Hayek, she was kidnapped while I was in trial and I must assume that she needs rescue. I had thought one of her former loves would step up and be a man but since it hasn’t happened I shall take up the job of hero and go to her rescue.”

Atlas Station
Atlas Station, in the Pernicious Sector, has a new owner. Dendon Felinx, who has owned and run the station for more than thirty years, sold the station and nearby moon to the notorious Klingon outlaw, Karr. Though Karr has taken ownership he has yet to make an appearance on the station. It will be interesting to see if Karr will continue the station’s policy of shooting all Orions who arrive at the station or if he will continue the policy that all Romulans are slapped into chains and sent to the mines on the moon. Karr’s ship was seen landing on the nearby primitive planet of Pern and it is rumored that Karr is taking a hunting expedition to the primitive world. Only time will tell what his intentions are with the station but we can hope that such a public move is proof that Karr is turning away from crime and going legit.

Terra
Another unexpected bit of news filtered in from Terra. The President of the Federations released a list of 314 pardons that he signed this morning. One name on the list stood out and was quite a surprise. The Klingon Karr , a traitor, pirate, murderer, and assassin who has terrorized the space lanes for the past three years was given a full and unconditional pardon. This following the news of Karr’s acquisition of a space station makes this reporter wonder if Karr was an agent of Starfleet Intelligence that has decided to retire. It is not unusual for such undercover operatives to infiltrate criminal and military organizations while becoming notorious as criminals themselves. It is also not uncommon for those people to then be pardoned for the crimes when the mission was done. Now we must wonder what mission was Karr on and was his mission a success. It is well known that he traveled with Alyr Torin and other nefarious peoples. Perhaps now we will see Torin arrested and dealt with as is deserved.

Telar
Admiral PauPaub and Admiral Yore have begun to assemble the Victory Fleet. So far over 2 million volunteers have filtered in from Starfleet, the Cardassian Navy, former Imperial droids, merchant marines, and thousands of people who are looking to have their records wiped. The Fleet is being split into two battle groups. One made up of former Starfleet, Chaka Force, and Cardassian Navy personnel. The other made up of volunteers from minor fleets, non-military personnel, and criminals that are being released from various penal colonies to serve. Further details are sketchy by our sources say that the fleet will begin to mobilize sometime within the next year.

Mars
The rebuilding of Mars following the vicious attack made by Admiral Thrawn’s fleet has been slow and filled with many pitfalls. The Anti-Starfleet League (TASL) has been protesting in every city on Mars. Their demands are that Starfleet remove its Marine Academy from Mars and take it to a fringe world. Starfleet personnel have been assaulted on the streets of Mars with more and more regularity. A distinct anti-Starfleet vibe is prevalent everywhere on the planet.

Denchar Penal Colony
Dr Moset has released details of his study into the allegations of Black Blood Syndrome on the Denchar penal colony. “We have found no evidence that the BBS plague was ever present on the planet. The violence seen in the colony was a direct result of the loose policies of the Romulan Star Empire and the Federation. Penal colonies must not be allowed to run themselves. In every case where this happens the criminals become the government and the law. A law of violence and perversion. It is good this colony has been closed and we should look towards closing all such colonies.” With the all clear having been given, the Denchar Penal Colony and the Orion Mining Company alterium mines are being turned into a museum. Quark Enterprises has bought the rights to use the colony as a tourist attraction. They plan to build a five star hotel and casino and to offer tours of the Xebec’s Demise, the city that the prisoners lived in. Later plans will include underground tours of the undercity and the mines.

Having tasted the joys and dangers of the Hall of Chaos, the party gets invited into more intricate games of chance. (Timeline: Terran Stardate 10109392-)

Hynerian Empire
Tension mount in the Chasoni system as the Hynerian Assault Cruiser, Flexion engaged and destroyed two Nebari carriers. The unprecedented show of force by the Hynerians is very unlike the normally subdued empire. The Hynerian Regent, Bishon, said, “The battle was unfortunate but necessary. The Nebari have been taking our ancestral systems for decades while the King failed to act. As Regent, I shall push our claims to the seven lost systems and regain some Hynerian honor.”

According to insider sources, the Hynerian King, Rigel XVI, was ousted in a military coup last month. It is unclear as to how much influence the Garidian Peacekeepers had in the coup, but it is well known that Bishon was educated in the Garidian Empire and has been very vocal about unification with the Garidian for some years now.

Rumors abound regarding the timing of the attack on the Nebari but some speculate that the timing is a result of a loss suffered by Bishon while attending a sports match on The Hall of Chaos. During a match of Chaos Chess between the Rotan Riders and an third tier team, Bishon lost nearly ten million lobi’s on a bet against an Andorian giant. The giant played the rook position and killed the famous Crookback Troll in a fast and furious battle. Witnesses nearby saw Bishon and the Nebari Ambassador, Kilios get into a very heated argument following the battle. Kilios demanded payment and Bishon appeared to renege on the bet. Kilios then threatened Bishon and left the arena. The next morning we received news of the attack in the Chasoni system.

The Hall of Chaos
The Oracle of Treis will be visiting the Hall of Chaos and as usual will receive seventy-two petitioners. She promises to answer one question of each petitioner. For those not familiar with the Oracle, she is considered the oldest and wisest person in all of the Hynerian Empire. Some claim she has lived for 10,000 years while others believe she has lived for millions. Whatever the case is, she seems to know everything about anything. Kings, generals, and rich merchants have given up fortunes and empires in order to ask her one question. She only comes to the Hall of Chaos once every 100 years and she answer 72 questions. She also take with her one of the petitioners to be her servant/concubine for a century. Baleer, the proprietor of the Hall of Chaos, is going to host spectacular games in order to earn a spot with the Oracle.
